Doc Martens now come from China?? What happened to the pride of the manufacturing company in England? They definitely make compromises quality for a cheaper. Liabilities no longer offer comfort and support. The leather is less supple. The sizes are a bit different, so obviously they have different tools (China-made probably). What a disappointment!

As a starting point of the disclosure – I did not my purchase from Amazon Docs.
I bought these boots 3 years ago when they were relatively new to the U.S. DM line-up. My impressions:
As have mentioned some, they are no longer the sporting MADE IN ENGLAND verbiage on the soles. This is a slight bummer for me. The fit was perfect for me, kind of near the famous bouncy sole bygone days; boot very flexible for a SC (steel cap) (these are rated ASTM), big brown color is that, with a variety of work and casual wear ( I wear my jeans more often than not).
Over the years a number of wearing the boots and a little lucky abuse and have nothing negative to report: None survived separation, no premature wear, the SC is not popping out of the leather, etc.
Please look for my ‘before’ and ‘after’ cleaning up pictures on this page.

If you are in a real environment, requires that the DR. MArtin boot boot as a work for you please reconsider your purchase. Dr Martin is flying alone in the name of Dr. Martin. You are now in China, and Dr. Martin did not stand by their product. My husband is a welder / fitter at a power plant, it takes the average work boot for at least six months. Even a pair of boots Wal-Mart would it take longer than this! After experience with Dr. Martin, I tried to ask my husband not to buy them. I had Martin boots with padding before, torn within 2 months and worn. No surprise to me when the sole started coming apart at the bottom of the padding and the seam ripped loose. Sure they were comfortable, but they were made very bad to be labeled as a work boot. No boat over 100 to disintegrate in 2000 after 20 days of purchase.

I work in construction and I hate it, my boots Retie so decided to get them and love them. I wish they would want smaller formats and sizes for women, my friend a couple, but their feet are too small for the size appears to get.
