My wife and I will be a vacation this summer, so I bought matching pairs of sandals Nevados Kariba V6474M in the next few sizes. Mine were much too small, you were much too large, and we both agree, the appearance left a lot to be desired. We can feel the open sides of a lot of sticks and stones would be in. So we went and ordered the Nevados Columbia Outpost hybrid.
We ordered our usual shoe size (5-1 / 2 and 10-1/2) and the two pairs of Outpost Hybrids are a perfect fit. We were much happier with the shoe phenomenon, as the sandals that look like a kind of weird space boots. The outpost look “normal” enough to carry in the store after hiking, and also have much better traction.
Last weekend we had the opportunity to go hiking with them in the Park. I was a little bit about wearing shoes without socks are concerned, but we were both very pleased with how comfortable they were to wear barefoot. We found the Outpost Hybrids to have excellent traction, both on loose gravel paths and climbing on steep cliff walks. Just for fun, we went wading, when we at the lake, and were very pleased with the performance of these shoes. The stones, sticks and other debris stayed away, but they were quickly drained out of the water we. Perhaps as important, they were very comfortable in the dry way with a foot, after he dived into the lake. No sounds mushy, no rubbing and no pruney feet when we moved them.
They were moist something when we got home, but still very comfortable. We have insoles out when we got home and it took overnight for it completely dry, but we would certainly not hesitate to carry them in their damp state.
Overall this is some of the best shoes we’ve ever bought. You should be a great job for our trip this summer, where we walk in the rivers and on dry land will. Exactly what we were looking for.
The only negative point, they have after a fairly strong smell of plastic. My wife says they smell like band aids. I assume that will go away over time.
